I've got a brand new attitude - And I'm going to wear it tonight.

"So, so what?
I'm still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't need you

And guess what
I'm having more fun
And now that we're done
I'm gonna show you tonight

I'm alright
I'm just fine
And you're a tool

So, so what?
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't want you tonight"

Have you ever been burned? When I say burned, I mean placing seemingly negligible expectations(or even expectations that both parties have come to agree to) in someone and then that person does the complete opposite? Well, that has been the story of my life the past couple of months.

You would think that I would be completely content with my life right now; going to school for an awesome career that involves not only my interest, but my passion. I also have a steady job that pays decently and I have the best set of friends that anyone could ask for. However, the 'Aries' in me is constantly looking for more, so I don't know if I'll ever be content.

The above mentioned combined with how cruel a select few people have been towards me as of late is a mixture for disaster in my life. I'm not sure what really happened to general respect with a dash of consideration and compassion towards someone. Maybe I'm just surrounding myself with the wrong people? God knows I have a track record for doing that heh heh.

Well, school is going good. I'm doing well in all my classes and my professors really like me; the feeling is mutual. Work is also going great! I work with my friend's(Cody) roommate. The other servers there are pretty awesome as well. It's the most laid-back restaurant atmosphere I've ever worked in, which isn't a complaint by any stretch of the imagination lol. The money is also awesome as well. A server that works there walked with a little over $150.00 on a Thursday night after only working ~6 1/2 hours. You do the math.

My dad is also doing great, which makes me feel good as well. He has Leukemia and his doctor thinks that his prostate cancer is coming back. But, if my dad feels good when he wakes up in the morning then that's less that I have to worry about for that 24 hours. My mom is also doing fine...fiesty as ever. It's kind of scary how comparable I am to the both of my parent's personalities. OH! My dad also bought 3 horses last week :) SO STOKED ABOUT THAT! They are still colt's but I'm sure will be grown in no time at all. He has two white ones and a brown one. I haven't decided on any names yet...but I think I want to name the brown colt; my parents can have the two white ones.

Ahh... :]

I guess the point of this post was simply to let any and everyone that has burned, hurt, or left me in the dust in the past know that I'm doing just fine; I feel great and am succeeding in my life!

...Without you.

Recap of today:
Woke up hungover
Went back to sleep after water+Advil
Got back in-touch with an old friend( :] )
Ate a bowl of cereal
Still RockStar status.

Where is the love?

So today I stopped at McDonalds for a greasy treat. While eating, I noticed an elderly couple sitting diagonally from me in complete silence. They made glances at me and they were exchanged. I continued to eat when, out of nowhere, the wife(or I assume they were married) asked the husband if he was ready to go in a very malicious tone. So, I glanced and raised a brow at the lady but continued to eat and try to mind my own business. The husband was non-responsive and seemed to be suffering from a mild case of Dimentia and/or Alzheimers. After several seconds the wife demanded that the husband get up and go or else she would assist him. He remained seated and she approached him and grabbed his arm then proceeded to yank him up from his seat. The man was already frail enough, so I couldn't imagine that her pulling at him felt anything short of painful. Finally he stood and they began to walk when he immediately stopped and looked at her feet in awe. She called him "gawky" and explained that it was only her nail polish(which, I wont lie...was kind of poppin). She continued to drag him out as I watched in awe at how two people who could stand the test of time would interract the way they did.

Seeing those two reminded me of how grateful I should be that I'm alive and have someone that, so far, seems great in my life. I wish more people could just admire what they have instead of loathing over what they don't.

In The End to Set Me Free

Well, I know I’m a little late on this post but it was going to get done one way or the other. This is my ‘wrapping up the summer’ post. It’s going to be a long one…but a good one at that!

So where do I start..? The end of May was nice. I had finally removed myself from an unhealthy living situation and environment and back home with my parents. It was nice to get away to the country and forgetting the rush (and drama) of the city I once called home. I met someone and started talking to them, which was a refresher. Looked like things were finally starting to look up for Jeremy :]
Shortly after June began, I started playing vigilante and started staying at my best friend’s house and got into the habit of honkey-tonkin’ again. Now, don’t get me wrong…I did it with class: Without a job and stayed drunk the majority of the time. Brent (the best friend I spoke of) and I started looking for places to live in the downtown area. Despite popular belief, we were extremely successful in our search and finally after weeks and weeks of calling, viewing and giving people the cold shoulder(even after we let them know how beautiful their property was), we finally found our crown jewel in the, well, diamond grove of Lexington. We ended up moving into a neighborhood that consisted of half-million dollar houses and we haven’t been happier since :]
Now, backtracking to what I had been saying earlier. So this guy and I had seemed to kick it off on a bad foot and didn’t speak for a week. However we decided to try it once again and had a picnic date at a local park here in Lexington. Everything seemed to be going great at this point! I was happy, content and for once thought I had found someone who wasn’t just dragging me along by a string for their viewing pleasure. Well we talked and talked for several weeks and then became officially together(which, you have no idea how happy I was about that :D). However, things took a turn for the worse about a week later. I guess it just wasn’t meant to be…we talked and inevitably I ended it. We don’t really speak anymore, which is sad because he seems like a very level-headed, collected guy, but you can’t get blood out of a turnip now can you?
So June came and went…and it was a shiteous month to say the least (well, aside from us moving into our lavish apartment).
July rolled around and we celebrated the fourth with, what else? Liquor and grilled chicken. Later in the month got a liiiiittle interesting to say the least.

...

Following those events, I decided to focus on myself and myself only. I started going up to Louisville more and more to broaden my network of friends and see some old ones that I hadn’t really spent much time with lately. To say the least, it was probably the most fun I’ve had at the end of a summer than I ever have had. Lots of drinking, lots of clubbing and LOTS of socializing :] Granted, I had the help of friends to abet my fun times(Thanks Josh and Jessie :P).
And to wrap things up, I have found myself once again in the relationship scene. Although I don’t really have a great track record of guys being into me, this one seems to be promising. I look forward to spending time with him and getting to know him better. He likes to travel, which is muy bueno.

To wrap it up:
Classes are great.
Life is great.
I’m great.
Thanks for reading :] More posts to come!

Something New in Lou(isville)

So I decided to venture to up to Louisville this weekend. Kind of funny how it happened. Was speaking to a good friend of mine on the phone, trying to cope with my hangover, and mentioned that a change of scenery was needed. She offered that I come up there to go out with her to this bar called "Fuzion," so I did. I had a blast! I didn't pay for a single drink and met some pretty cool people. I also got to see an old friend, which was really nice; refreshing to get to just hang out and spend some time with him.

Today we went to this Indian cuisine restaurant for the sunday buffet and met up with two other friends of mine that I haven't seen in a long time.

Not really too much to write about. I'm so wore out after these past few night of getting wild and I cant really produce anything too entertaining right now. I'm sure it'll come later though.

Peace

My apogee at Magee's

So I took a walk down the block to Magee's bakery and am enjoying their WiFi...and a buttercream pasty : Can't help it - they're amazing.

Today has been great! :] I woke up at around 10:30 this morning and came back from Richmond then had a bite to eat for breakfast. Shortly after, Brent came home for lunch and did his thing while I cleaned my room up and picked up around the apartment(wasn't too much to do). Following that, I showered and then got dressed and here I am at Magee's :]

This place is off the hook! It's on the corner of E.Main and S. Ashland. They have all kinds of danishes, cakes, cookies and they're ALL homemade. They also serve food but you know what I say - life is short, eat dessert first! They also provide free wireless and what's better than blogging at your local bakery while stuffing your face with, basically, pure sugar, cream and butter? That's right - Nothing.

So I really need to go purchase my books, but I cant find the motivation. Not to mention I'm kind of tired now after that buttercream thing.

I'm really stoked about the rest of this month. I've got things planned for every weekend and then to top it all off, school starts at the end of this month :] I have dinner at Bonefish for a good friend of mine's birthday planned next week, then that same weekend a 'White Party' to attend( still need to go get something for that...lol ) theeenn the next weekend I'm supposed to be going up to Dayton(these nights never end without a bang haha) with Jerrad and Ryan and then school starts the next week(I'm sure there will be other poppin' nights through that time period but that's all that I actually have planned.)! So pumped :]

Well, I guess I'm going to go back to the apartment and get my class list and take it to the bookstore...as much as I dont WANT to, I NEED to :[

Brent and I are going 'Booshie Bar-hopping' tonight. It should be fun. It's basically where you go to all the shittiest bars and get ripsy-tipsy at them. Should be fun times.

Later!

Viva La Vida en Nashville

This weekend was absolutely fantastic. Friday night, my roommate, Brent, and I went out in Lexington and then ended up at this bar called 'Bang' by the end of the night. We ended up having all of our drinks comp'ed and several shots bought for us. Someone bought me a 'liquid cocaine' and I couldn't finish it, so I gave half of it to Brent. Without much suprise, that shot sent us over the edge. The next thing everyone knows, Brent and I had scaled a pool table and decided it would be a good idea to dance on it. We got yelled at shortly afterwards - hahaha. So we had one more drink and ended up leaving and coming home to crash.

The next day(well, later that morning heh) Brent and I woke up and went to breakfast and our other friend Josh gave us a call saying that he was going to Nashville and he invited us to go with. Well, considering Nashville is by far my favorite city that I've ever visited, I couldn't say no. So we ended up driving to Nashville at around 1:30p and arrived there around 4:00. We checked into our hotel(this place was amazing) which ended up having a sectional as you first walk in and was conveniently located in the same section as the minibar. Then, there was a flat screen, plasma television mounted on the wall that could have basically taken over the world due mainly to it's size. Finally, the beds were amazing and the sheets/comforter were obviously brand new. In other words, our hotel room was the deal. So we all get there and unpack what few things we did and went to this vegetarian cafe, which was alright...however, their fried green tomatoes were to DIE for.

After grabbing a bite to eat, we ended up visiting this 'Tomato Festival'. It was pretty cool - they had live music and a punk/ska band was playing a rendition of 'Gwen Stefani - Holla Back Girl', which tickled my fancy. They also had a lot of, well, tomato merchandise and items. Candles, t-shirts, soap, trinkets, etc. They also were selling Bloody Mary's but we decided to pass on those. After that, we walked back to our car and ended up going back to our hotel room to get ready.

After showering and getting ourselves dressed we had Josh drop us off in downtown Nashville and then Brent and I went out to this place called "Tribe" to have a drink. I had a gin martini and he had a vodka martini. They were suprisingly pretty good considering mine was simply straight gin - literally. After we finished our drink, we went nextdoor to this club called "Play(wow, is all I can say about this place)." Lol, there, we started off with a RedBull and vodka then proceeded to watch a couple performances(some of which were a joke, but then others were pretty good). Following our first drink, we went to use the restroom. Which is, apparently, a unisex bathroom facility. Then we grabbed another drink(Rum and diet to be exact) and went to the dancefloor to get loose. Well, that didn't last very long due to not having enough to drink so we stepped outside in the smoker's lounge/patio/whatever-you-want-to-call-it. There, we met the coolest people! We met an artist, three younger guys from Birmingham who declared that I was their dream guy wrapped up and put infront of them(yeah, right!), and then a radio-personality from Nashville - who was kind of...different? Anywho, we went back in and finished our drinks and went to get another one - this time, an L.I.T. and that basically is what put us over the edge. Next thing you know, Brent and I went out to the dancefloor and were, basically, working it out. At that point, we didn't care who was watching - we were having a blast. Then, a gentlemen approaches me while Brent steps outside to speak with a guy he had met earlier that night. I introduced myself and he did the same, then offered to buy me a drink - which, of course, I couldn't turn down. So we made our way to the bar in the dancefloor area and Brent joined us. The guy even offered Brent a drink! Which was awesome of him(making a good first impression with my friends is critical, by the way). Afterwards, we ended up leaving Play and going to this afterhours bar called "The Tin Roof" somewhere in downtown Nashville(I was lost at this point hah) and had a few drinks there. We wrapped up the night after that and headed to our respective beds.

The next morning, we woke up and got everything packed to leave the hotel. Starting off, we went to the Gaylord Hotel in Opryland and walked around the atrium inside. We ended up going to a vegetarian indian cuisine place on the bottom level of this hotel after Opryland. It was, well, horrible - except for this potato and onion wrap-type of deal they had. And their dessert was pretty good as well. After that, we went to the Parthenon and toured the inside of it. We got to see the larger than life Athena statue inside(kind of creeped me out if you want to know the truth). After that, we went to Dairy Queen and had some icecream(well, Josh did) and rendevoued with Brent shortly after that. We decided to head home after that...we were all pretty drained. Me, being the most tired, had to drive back to Lexington being hungover and only 3-4 hours of sleep - it was horrible and I almost fell asleep several times. Thankfully, Josh's boyfriend was sitting shotgun.

So yeah, to say the least, I had a BLAST this weekend in Nashville. I'm actually looking to transfer schools to down there. I've visited the city several times and each time I'm amazed at how much fun I have down there.

Alright..I'm off to go eat - starved.

Why do I do this to myself?

Chriiiiiist I should not have drank before I went out to drink last night(go on and admit you laughed at that. ...Thanks). I had a good time last night for the most part. I went over to Jerrad's at around 6:40 and we ran to LiqourBarn(our first mistake) and got some of the usual supplies: Jagermeister, Vodka, Wine and some pasta salad. Then we ran back to my place so I could get a change of clothes, went back to his and fixed some shrimp scampi for our pasta salad and watched some Alias on DVD - which I am now HOOKED on(thanks Jerrad). Afterwards we cracked open the goodies and I indulged in:

2 Glasses of Wine
2 Vodka Sours(and if you know me, I put more liqour than mixer in my drinks)
and finished up with 6-7 'Jager-bombs'

Following that, we walked downtown to this joint called 'Mia's' and I had two more overly-potent drinks in the process of..well, I dont really remember how long we were there to be honest with you. We then proceeded to go back to Jerrad's and I made the horrible mistake of chain smoking cigarettes and drunk dialing...the ladder being the one that I actually feel bad about today. Everything is a blur after that.

I woke up this morning to me laying on Jerrad's couch and him getting ready for work. He didn't look very happy :( And now I'm home..here - blogging and starving. Going to go eat now.

On a lighter note, I'm glad I drove home last night. Because I was way too drunk to walk..hahaha.

Pilot Entry

Well, here we are again folks. I've restarted my blog again. It's really amusing how someone changes over the years. I went back and read all my old Livejournal and Xanga entries(Yeah, it's been that long) and was amazed at some of the things I said, experiences and memories that were rekindled and what an irresponsible take on life I had(and still do to some extent).

So lets see, where should I begin? This summer has been a VERY interesting one at that. But then again, I dont think I've had a summer that didn't have some kind of malicious suprise in-store for me since I was a kid. However, I'll save the details for an entry closer to when school starts; my "wrapping up the summer" entry.

School this fall should be an exciting ride. I'm ready to embrace this new and exciting chapter of my life, set the course for my future and establish myself in society. I'm going to school this fall for my Bachelor's in Biology and then to pursue Pre-Veterinary Medicine. I'm a big advocate of stopping abuse and neglect towards animals and want to enlighten myself on methods and techniques to keep an animal healthy and happy. I'm also a HUGE advocate of Global Warming, but we'll get to that later. I'm sure I will rant about it at some point in the near future - especially if the myriad of Jehovah's Witnesses don't stop knocking on my door and letting me know, that, "It's all going according to God's plan."

I've killed people for less. Kidding, of course.
